We will see a lot more of this
I firmly believe that this is a kind of marketing that we will see a lot more in future - instead of placing random promoters somewhere to more or less harass people by a) disturbing them and b) being too irrelevant too often, this 1-2-1 marketing approach uses social media to identify consumers and react to them individually. It is not "the future of marketing", but it gives us an idea of how direct/physical interaction between brand and consumer can be enhanced (and, after that, amplified) by internet communication driven by consumers - not brands. The more internet-savvy every normal employee of a company gets, the easier this stuff becomes scalable.
